Trufloc™
The Trufloc™ series is a range of high efficiency polyelectrolytes specifically designed for solid-liquid separation processes within the industrial and municipal wastewater fields.
- Very economical as effective at low dosage levels with high dewatering ability
- Enables automatic feeding and is easy to handle
The range includes both aqueous and petroleum oil based synthetically derived polymers suitable for application individually or used in conjunction with Cofloc®:
- The Trufloc™ Nonionic Series
- Technically pure polyacrylamides that exhibit neutral properties in aqueous solution.
- The Trufloc™ Anionic Series
- Copolymers of polyacrylamide with increasing proportions of acrylate groups (which negatively charge the polymers) and thus an anionic character in aqueous solution.
- The Trufloc™ Cationic Series
- Copolymers of acrylamide with increasing proportions of a cationic comonomer. The cationic groups (which are thus introduced into the polymer) have positive charges in aqueous solution.
Wide range of applications
Trufloc™ is suitable for the treatment of industrial water supplies, urban sewage, wastewater from food and drink manufacturers, chemical plants, mines and other industrial operations.
Trufloc™ flocculants accelerate sedimentation speed and also improve the water removal efficiency because the resulting flocks are easier to filter.
Flocculation
Trufloc™ polymers incorporate reactive groups in aqueous solution which have a strong affinity to the surfaces of suspended colloids or very fine particles in aqueous suspensions or slurries.
Trufloc™ polymers are effective in the pH-range 1 to 14. They are also effective in systems with low electrolyte concentrations, right up to saturated salt solutions. Furthermore, they cover the complete temperature range in which the aqueous suspension is liquid ( from around 0°C to 100°C).
The most suitable Trufloc™ type for a particular application can be easily determined by carrying out simple preliminary tests.
